Personal Development

Team Development

Developing high performing teams in the workplace requires identification of the issues within the work environment that impact on effective teamworking and creating solutions to those issues by understanding that team development is not a one-off occurrence but an ongoing process that requires analysis of the business itself, the working environment and clear measurement of the team’s effectiveness.

To develop effective teams requires:

• Understanding the business environment the team is operating in
• Thinking, planning and managing the individual within the team
• Individual self awareness and self management

Ultimately it’s about improving outcomes through the development of appropriate team strategies and processes.

You may be in the process of developing an existing or new team within your organisation and would like to identify the development areas to focus on or you may be part of a team that performs consistently well but needs to be kept motivated.

At LearnDevelop the importance of effective teams and team leaders is recognised and can be enhanced through accredited or non-accredited development programmes.

Individual Self-Development

Self-development is a positive process of realising your full potential and requires an ongoing process of self evaluation which involves the setting of goals and targets which must be reviewed regularly. Self evaluation may also require input from others to help you assess whether you are meeting some of the goals you have set yourself.

Ultimately self evaluation should lead to change whether it be in yourself or your work methods.

In order to develop yourself you need to:

• Know your own strengths and areas of development and assess your current position
• Decide what is important to you and set your own objectives
• Make use of your strengths and strive to overcome your development areas
• Look for opportunities and keep your mind open to new ideas

Your organisation may be experiencing changes that prompt you to consider whether your existing skills can transfer from one job role to another and therefore you should evaluate your skills and consider areas for further development.

At LearnDevelop it is understood that developing yourself and managing your own development is not an easy process as it is easier to identify problems and development areas in others rather than yourself. However every one of us has the potential to develop and part of that process is evaluating yourself and having tools and techniques to carry out this evaluation.
